Our Sales Policy:

By acquiring a rabbit from Mad Hatter Rabbits, you agree to the following policy:

  • We have the right to refuse a sale at any time, for any reason.
  • In order to hold a rabbit, a Non–Refundable 50% deposit is required. Rabbits can be held for up to 10 days. Holds longer than 10 days will be on a case-by-case basis, must be paid in full and a pick up date will be agreed upon by both parties. If the rabbit is not picked up by the agreed upon date or the sale is cancelled by the buyer, the rabbit will be put back up for sale and the deposit or full sale price will not be refunded.
  • Payment must be made in full before the rabbit will be released to the buyer (or transporter). We accept cash, Square Cash, Paypal, or money orders.
  • Your rabbit is guaranteed to be healthy and of sound temperament to the best of our knowledge when it leaves our herd for 48 hours. Your acceptance of the rabbit confirms you find it in a healthy condition and of sound temperament. We will not be responsible for the health of your rabbit after it has left our care.
  • “Showable” means the rabbit is free from disqualifications. It is not a guarantee the rabbit will win at a show.
  • All of our rabbits leave our rabbitry with pedigree (if applicable) and a week’s worth of their present feed. Written care instructions are available upon request.
  • If, for any reason, you are unable to care or look after your rabbit we will always take them back but no refund will be given. If you choose to sell any livestock you purchase from us we request first right of refusal as a courtesy.
  • We are happy to answer questions at any time but ask you do thorough research before committing to your rabbit. We recommend Storey’s Guide to Raising Rabbits by Bob Bennet as an excellent resource. Becoming a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association and the national breed club also gives you a free guidebook, Raising Better Rabbits and Cavies, that is a wonderful primer to rabbit care (as well as other membership benefits).

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am interested in becoming a breeder of Champagne D’Argent rabbits. After doing research via internet and books, I came across your name as a breeder. I have a couple of questions regarding purchasing your rabbits as as our initial breeding stock. First, are you able to ship rabbits? We live in East Texas and wouldn’t be able to pick them up at location. Second, would you have 2 junior does and 2 juniors bucks available within the next couple of months? What price would generally be charged for these rabbits and shipping? Lastly, do you have any guarantee for purchases? Your time and response would be greatly appreciated.

We currently (4/13) have only one little jr. It’s a blue otter and I think it’s staying with us for a good while. We’ll be breeding for another litter this week so hopefully we will have another litter of Satins available in July 2013.

Hello, I am very interested if finding a breeding pair of Astrex rabbits. Are you currently to the stage where you would be willing to sell a pair for breeding? I find this fur type very beautiful and want to help breed it. I am specifically looking for harlequin Astrex or Rex Astrex.

Thank you so much for your time.

We do out best to help when it’s possible. There are often transports via other rabbit people.

We typically work with auto transport. There’s an amazing amount of movement in the rabbit world, so given time and patience almost any locations are possible.

We do not raise those breeds. I do believe there is a rabbitry with a similar name, Mad Hatters Rabbits, in Florida, who raises small bunnies. We like the big ones over here! 🙂

I am interested in beginning to raise rabbits. After doing considerable research online(although I will be picking up some of the books you have mentioned) I want to start with Silver Foxes. I am not currently ready to purchase them but would be looking to buy in the next month or two. Still have some preparation that needs to be taken care of first. Could you email me when you might have some juniors available?

Hi! We frequently have juniors available and occasionally proven adults. The best way is to contact us when you’re ready and also watch our Rabbitry Facebook page. ☺️

I am interested in becoming a breeder/exhibitor of silver fox rabbits. I live near Sacramento CA and am concerned about how the breed will handle the heat. I can provide misters and deep shade beneath a 80 foot tall walnut tree, but cannot provide air conditioning. Will this work for the bunnies?
    Please respond via email.

Thanks for contacting us! The safest way to make sure your rabbits can manage the heat is to get stock from the same temperate zone as you live in.

Also getting rabbits when the temperatures are colder gives them a chance to acclimate as the temperature rise in the summer.

    Hello,
I’m interested in raising heritage breed rabbits for both fur and food. I’m specifically looking into 3 breeds (silver fox, champagne d’argent, and American chinchilla) that I think will withstand the extreme temperatures here in Vernal, Utah. I would like to purchase a pedigreed, proven pair. Do you have any available? Do you have breed recommendations?Do you ship?
    Thank you,
    Sara Daniel

Hello! We don’t ship, but we do seek out transport. We have never raised American chinchilla but have really enjoyed our experienced with Silver Fox and Champagne d’Argent. We will be driving through Utah in May 2016. Shoot us an email at madhatterrabbits {at} gmail {dot} com and we’ll see what we can find out.
